Does your child need a doctor urgently?
The paediatric practice works by appointment only and is not meant for emergencies. If your child is ill in the evening, at night or at the weekend and it cannot wait, go to the GP out-of-hours service in Genk. In a life-threatening situation, call 112.
The consultation is in Dutch. You are welcome to bring someone who can translate for you.

When should you call 112?
Call 112 in a life-threatening situation. Do not wait. For example:
- your child is unconscious, does not respond or is very hard to wake
- your child is severely short of breath, breathes very fast or the skin pulls in between the ribs
- the lips or face turn blue or grey
- your child has a seizure lasting more than 5 minutes
- purple or red spots appear on the skin that do not fade when pressed, together with fever
- your child suddenly has swelling, difficulty breathing or severe vomiting after eating (severe allergic reaction)
Suspected poisoning
If your child has swallowed medicine, a cleaning product or a plant, call the Poison Centre on 070 245 245. Keep the packaging at hand. If your child is drowsy or has difficulty breathing, call 112 straight away.
